Do You Want Me. Do you Need Me.

(as Your Copywriter)

Here’s the KPCopy 7 Step Process & Decide for Yourself

The common struggle I get from very brilliant business owners is: I don’t know how to talk about myself or my brand.

And… I get it!

A time lapse photo of the stars where it shows the world in orbit. Super cool.

It’s very personal to you, and more than likely you have put your blood, sweat and tears into first thinking of this idea, collaborating with yourself or a partner, finally taking this gigantic, beautiful leap, not to mention investing in this dream of yours.

There are a lot of hats being worn, lots of coins on the table, and you know in your heart that this is what you are supposed to be doing… However, how does one express this in words?

How in the world do I tell the world?

Word Sherpa (copywriter) to the rescue!

I am all about the journey in this life, and linking arms to connect with your ideal clients is what makes my heart sing.

These 7 points are from my tried and true process that I developed while being trained with The Copy Rebel coaching programme by conversion copywriter Natalie Milligan so big shout out to Nat and co. But, also from the clients I have nurtured on my own…

I like to have a lot of conversations and really connect. While also avoiding being too wordy, and to really hone in on the client’s tone of voice.

As every client is unique, I love to make a bespoke step-by-step plan that is as individual as your business.

My process is sound as I have learned from the best (another shout out to TCR!) and my clients can agree that my 25 years in sales and marketing and my empathetic gift of storytelling rounds out this process.

So here it is:

  1. Know and clarify your USP (Unique selling proposition) and your distinctive brand and selling position.

Think of your business like taking a hike. You need the correct footwear, socks and backpack, right? Before you even step outside the door…

This is the foundation of building your brand and it is the groundwork that we will always be coming back to time and again. If you don’t have these core necessities to begin your journey, you won’t get very far.

2. Who are we trying to reach? Knowing your target audience and what they like, what they don’t. What inspires them, what turns them off… We want to take a deep dive into who your ideal clients are and what makes them tick.

Do we have a map and a proper plan on where to go on your hike?

3. It’s our human nature to avoid conflict… but in this case, it is important to:

Know-The-Problem. And put it front and center!

We need to have sunscreen, bug spray, and possibly a hat. We don’t want to acknowledge there will be bugs, or we might get a sunburn, but being prepared and identifying our problems before they strike is half the battle or err… the enjoyment of the journey.

4. Know what you are selling (features and benefits) We will get to the nitty gritty with your USP and what beauty you have to offer the world.

We don’t want to get hangry on our journey… we definitely need some snacks! And not any of those cardboard power bars that are out there…

5. Write interesting, attention grabbing headlines.

We are in a short attention span period of consciousness. Sometimes the hike is boring, or daunting, until it is not. Writing captivating headlines is the sun peeking through those giant redwoods (if those were not glorious enough. wink.)

6. Storybranding is a great way to capture the reader’s attention and everyone loves a good story! Also vulnerability helps play a role in this… Let people know the real you and your brand 😀

This is the true beauty… getting your hike accomplished while enjoying the process. Taking photos, having a good (sometimes out of breath) talk, recognizing the wild flowers just sprouting up along the trail.

Getting really to the heart of the journey and the who, what, where, how and why. In a fun and creative way. Telling your story in a way that is most comfortable to you.

7. What is the next step? Using clear Call To Action(s) (CTA’s)

A friend in marketing asked me: What do websites do?

And my answer was: To create CTA’s (Calls to Action!)

He corrected me: To make money.

And to be brutally honest it’s what we are here for, right?

I think the true answer is both… Taking our passions and creating a living while treating our clients ethically is truly the ideal goal in this life.

Are you close to the ocean after your trek and need to go share 2 dozen local oysters with your hiking pal? Do you need to go soak your feet in Epsom salt while enjoying a refreshing cold beverage? What’s for dinner?

It is important to enjoy the adventure, but to have a clear next step.

You could always take my words of wisdom and my training and zoom off into the sunset… and please do!

You know yourself best.

An old fashioned typewriter and a Macbook back to back.

But, what if you could link arms with someone who writes every day and has the training & skills and practically wears a Queen-of-the-Words tiara (with her hiking boots of course) proclaiming herself the best brand story distiller?

I like to ask a lot of questions, I will forewarn you… but in a very authentic and natural conversational way.

Why not book a call and see if I could be of help? If you don’t like me, I get that too. (said defeatedly: Not everyone has to like me…)

But, what if you do and I can help do some of the heavy lifting in the word department?  (ahem, Word Sherpa.)

Freeing you up to do what you truly do best…
